India, May 18 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday launched a series of infrastructure and civic development projects worth nearly Rs 100 crore in the Dwarka Assembly constituency, promising faster urban transf-ormation and improved basic amenities for residents. The projects, ranging from road repairs and drainage upgrades to sewer expansion and electricity infrastructure, are aimed at addressing long-pending civic issues in the rapidly growing area. Launching the projects during a public programme in Dwarka, the Chief Minister said the Delhi Government was working to turn the vision of a "Viksit Delhi" into reality under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Our government's goal is not limited to announcing large schemes. We want basic facilities to reach every colony, every locality and every citizen effectively," Gupta said. She added that for the first time, such a large-scale budget allocation had been made for development works across Assembly constituencies in Delhi. "Development projects worth around Rs 100 crore have been launched in Dwarka, and additional special budget has also been allocated for various works in the area," she said. The Chief Minister also highlighted a major metro expansion project planned for the region. According to Gupta, Dwarka will benefit from a new metro project worth Rs 6,200 crore under Metro Phase-5 expansion. "Previous governments failed to provide even their share for metro projects on time, which slowed development. Our government has already released Rs 10,000 crore for metro expansion and accelerated work," she said. MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, MLA Pradyumn Rajput, senior officials and local residents attended the programme.
