India, July 12 -- Tripura is steadily progressing towards self-reliance in the healthcare sector, stated Chief Minister Manik Saha while inaugurating Time Hospital, a new multi-speciality healthcare facility near Tripura University. The Chief Minister informed that the number of patients travelling outside the state for treatment has declined by nearly 80 per cent, reflecting the significant advancement of healthcare facilities within Tripura. He also announced that the State will soon establish a Medical University and urged medical professionals to continue serving society with greater dedication and responsibility.

Inviting further investment in healthcare, Saha remarked that Tripura's excellent law and order situation makes it an ideal destination for investment. The multi-speciality hospital has been established through the initiative of Kanak Narayan Bhattacharya and Jayanta Dey. On the same day, addressing a programme at the Techno India Knowledge Campus, Ram Prasad Paul, Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, praised the significant contribution of Techno India Group towards the expansion of quality education in the State. Responding to the Chief Minister's call for greater investment, Techno India Group has announced an additional investment of Rs 220 crore in Tripura over the next five years.
