India, June 29 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday attended three 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelan' events across the capital to mark 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, highlighting the Centre's development initiatives and the Delhi government's commitment to implementing the Prime Minister's vision in the national capital. The Chief Minister participated in programmes at Pitampura in Shalimar Bagh, West Enclave in Shakurbasti and Mahalaxmi Vihar in Mustafabad. At Pitampura, she joined public representatives, party workers and residents in listening to the 135th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat. Also Read - Delhi SIR begins tomorrow; draft electoral roll to be published on Aug 5 Addressing the gatherings, Gupta said the past 12 years under Prime Minister Modi's leadership had witnessed significant progress in sectors including Digital India, infrastructure, railways, expressways, airports, defence production, transparent governance and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). She said the principles of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas" had become the foundation of the country's development. The Chief Minister described Mann Ki Baat as a powerful medium connecting public service with nation-building and said the Delhi government was committed to translating the Prime Minister's vision into reality. She said the government was working on initiatives related to water conservation, the "Catch the Rain" campaign, "Vocal for Local" and environmental protection. She said work on roads, sewage systems, drinking water supply, schools and hospitals was progressing rapidly, while projects that had remained pending for years were now being completed with the Centre's support. On the Yamuna rejuvenation project, the Chief Minister said the government was implementing a scientific and long-term plan that includes tapping major drains flowing into the river and setting up new sewage treatment plants. She added that the Municipal Corporation had received a financial assistance package of Rs.2,800 crore to strengthen Delhi's sanitation system and that the deployment of mechanised road-sweeping machines was being expanded. She also announced that 300 new air-conditioned electric buses would be inducted into Delhi's public transport fleet on July 4. In addition, the government will launch a mega plantation drive on July 7 with a target of planting 70 lakh saplings across the capital. Meanwhile, Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi joined citizens at the Senior Citizens' Centre in Rohini for the live screening of the 135th episode of Mann Ki Baat. Addressing attendees, the Mayor described the programme as an important platform for encouraging public participation in nation-building and promoting values such as cleanliness, environmental awareness, innovation and social responsibility. He said the Prime Minister's messages continue to inspire citizens, especially the youth, to contribute towards a developed India. Following the programme, the Mayor participated in a Jal Seva initiative and distributed drinking water.
