Kolkata, Oct. 4 -- Students of classes VI to X in West Bengal schools will be taught financial literacy during the last period on Saturdays under a directive issued by the Paschim Banga Samagra Shiksha Mission.

The directive asks Higher Secondary, Secondary and Upper Primary schools to use financial education modules developed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as additional, non-evaluative reading material during the Ananda Parisar session.

Schools have been advised to conduct the sessions in a quiz format during the last period on Saturdays. Awareness sessions, discussions and quizzes may also be organised based on the contents of the modules.

According to the directive, the modules have been developed to enhance financial awareness among students and improve their proficiency in foundational mathematics and the practical application of knowledge in everyday financial situations.
