Raiganj, Sept. 10 -- At least 16 people were injured in two separate clashes in Chopra Police Station areas of North Dinajpur district over the past 24 hours, triggering tension in the respective localities. The injured were admitted to Dalua Hospital in Chopra. A woman who sustained serious injuries was later shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri for further treatment.

In the first incident, 10 people were injured when members of the families of Mansur Alam and Hasibur Ali allegedly clashed over possession of a 25-decimal plot at Sree Pokhar in Haptiaguachh on Thursday morning. According to local sources, Hasibur Ali and his family members began erecting fencing around the disputed plot. Mansur Alam and his family members reportedly objected to the move, leading to an altercation that soon escalated into a clash.

In another incident at Daspara on Wednesday night, six people were injured in a clash between the families of Idrish Ali and Najimul Islam over a dispute concerning fishing in a pond.
