New Delhi, Oct. 3 -- The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) may extend its nationwide agitation to Kolkata as part of its ongoing campaign demanding Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar's resignation.

The CJP, led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, is pressing for criminal action and CEC Gyanesh Kumar's resignation following controversies over electoral rolls and voter deletions.

Following demonstrations in Mumbai, it has planned escalations in Delhi, including a proposed march to Jantar Mantar. The group intends to carry out protests in Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Goa as well, sources said.

Former chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed support for the CJP. "We are fully supporting the CJP and all the young generation and students. And my humble request, please stop these atrocities," she said.
