
New Delhi, Sept. 12 -- Calcutta High Court Chief Justice Justice Ravindra Vithalrao Ghuge, along with Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty, Executive Chairman of the West Bengal State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), and Justice Aniruddha Roy, visited the SLSA office on Saturday during the National Lok Adalats held across the state.
SLSA Member Secretary Moon Chakraborty said 477 benches functioned across West Bengal and cases involving a total settlement amount of more than Rs 282 crore were disposed of.
The secretary of the South 24-Parganas District Legal Services Authority, said 61 benches operated in the district, including 34 at Alipore and seven at Sealdah. Of 1.8 lakh pre-litigation cases, 99 per cent were disposed of, while the disposal rate for post-litigation cases exceeded 95 per cent.
