HYDERABAD, July 31 -- The 11th All India Police Judo Cluster Championship 2026 concluded in Hyderabad on Thursday with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) finishing second overall as Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) emerged champions of the week-long event.
The sports meet, which was held at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium here, witnessed the participation of around 1,600 athletes and officials from 36 Central and State Police Organisations.
SSB emerged overall champions with 24 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze medals, securing 203 points. CISF came second with 25 gold, 16 silver, and 25 bronze medals, tallying 198 points, while Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) took the third position with 139 points.
A total of 470 medals comprising 119 gold, 119 silver and 232 bronze medals were distributed in the Judo, Wushu, Taekwondo, Karate and Pencak Silat events. Of the 36 participating organisations, 28 teams bagged medals during the championship.
Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand was the chief guest at the closing ceremony along with CISF Additional Director General Vijay Prakash, senior police officials and AIPSCB officials.
Addressing the gathering, Vijay Prakash congratulated all the winning teams and urged athletes to participate in international events like the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and Olympics. He also informed that CISF has completed its biggest ever sports recruitment drive, inducting 332 sports persons, including 179 women, into the force's High Performance Athletes Programme.
In addition, it was also announced that India will host the 2029 World Police and Fire Games in Ahmedabad. Telangana Police announced its plan to host various All India Police sports events in Hyderabad in the near future.
