New Delhi, Oct. 23 -- The CISF has signed an MoU with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) to train its personnel in drone and anti-drone technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Under the agreement signed on Friday, NeGD will help the force identify academic institutions, technical laboratories and experts for specialised training. Courses will be conducted at IITs, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, DRDO laboratories, Bharat Electronics Limited and other institutions.

The training will include certificate courses, postgraduate diplomas and MTech programmes, along with case studies, standard operating procedures and field exercises focused on critical infrastructure protection.

CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan said personnel deployed at airports, metro rail networks, power stations and other vital installations needed training to counter emerging threats, many of which were aerial in nature.

NeGD CEO Nand Kumarum said the collaboration would enable technical institutions to share expertise and develop skilled personnel. The agreement follows two MoUs signed between CISF and IIT Kanpur two months ago on cybersecurity and drone technologies.

A joint steering committee will meet after 30 days to review progress and finalise next year's plan.
