Kolkata, Oct. 5 -- Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has urged Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to refer her complaint regarding an alleged breach of parliamentary privilege during her stay at the Krishnanagar Circuit House to the Privileges Committee.
In a post on social media, Moitra tagged Birla and said the matter had been pending for two months.
She urged the Speaker to take up the issue and refer it to the committee "ASAP".
Moitra had earlier submitted a notice under Rule 222 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha, alleging "serious breach of protocol" and "contemptuous conduct" by Nadia district administration officials.
In her August 16 letter to the Speaker, Moitra alleged that she was asked to vacate the Circuit House on the night of August 14, shortly after checking in.
She said she had informed the Speaker in advance about her visit and had sought protection to carry out her parliamentary duties without harassment or impediment.
