India, Aug. 15 -- A man serving a life sentence for kidnapping and killing a 14-month-old child was arrested by the Delhi Police nearly two years after he jumped parole, police said on Friday. Kalim Seikh was granted 45 days parole by the Delhi High Court in October 2024 but failed to surrender before the jail authorities after its expiry and remained absconding, they said. The accused was arrested from Gandhi Nagar on August 12 following a tip-off, a senior police officer said. The case was registered at Khajuri Khas police station in January 2013 after the child went missing from his residence in Shri Ram Colony. During the investigation, the child's body was recovered and sections pertaining to murder and kidnapping were added to the FIR, police said. Seikh was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 after being convicted in the child murder case.
