New Delhi, July 8 -- The 44th edition of Concord 2026 organised by Calcutta Boys' School came to a vibrant end recently. Known as Kolkata's oldest and one of its most prestigious inter-school cultural festivals, the three-day event brings together the city's student community in a celebration of talent, creativity, and camaraderie. More than 30 reputed schools from across West Bengal participated in the three-day festival.
The festival was inaugurated with a welcome address by Raja McGee, Principal and Secretary of the Calcutta Boys' Group of Schools. Reflecting on the rich legacy of Concord, he described the festival as more than just a competition, calling it an inspiring platform that celebrates the spirit of camaraderie and provides young minds with an opportunity to learn, create, and grow together.
The opening ceremony was graced by renowned Tollywood actor Debleena Dutta, who attended as the chief guest. Recalling her previous visit to the school as a Concord participant, she spoke emotionally about returning to the festival. Addressing the students, she reminded them that, in the years to come, they would not remember whether they had won or lost; instead, they would cherish the memories they created and the pride of having taken part in the festival.
The opening day witnessed an impressive display of artistic and creative talent across a range of events. In the Devotional Choir competition, Garden High School captivated the audience with a soulful and confident performance. La Martiniere for Boys delivered a high-energy presentation in the Instrumental event, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The day also featured competitions such as poster making, comic strip, and console gaming, providing students with opportunities to showcase their artistic flair, imagination, and competitive spirit beyond the performing arts.
Interestingly, the grand finale was held at the EZCC, Kolkata, with acclaimed Bengali actor Soumya Mukherjee gracing the occasion as the chief guest. The concluding ceremony began with captivating dance performances by participating schools, followed by a spectacular tribute to Michael Jackson presented by the students of Calcutta Boys' School.
The celebrations reached their peak with an energetic live performance by the popular band In-Sync, whose vibrant music had the audience singing, cheering, and dancing together in a fitting finale to the festival.
