Kolkata, Sept. 13 -- Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (BSAEU) will open its centralised admission portal on Monday for B.Ed courses across 152 self-finance colleges, the first batch found eligible after state government inspections of infrastructure and academic requirements.
Applications for the B.Ed programme are open until September 16, with the merit list due on September 25 and classes from November 3. The M.Ed entrance test will be held on September 29.
The state government forwarded the list to BSAEU, which began the affiliation process on September 7.
Around 140 colleges had completed the formalities by Friday, vice-chancellor Arunasis Goswami said.
The university is separately examining replies from 451 self-finance colleges issued show-cause notices over deficiencies found during inspections. Colleges that satisfactorily address the concerns will subsequently be considered for affiliation.
"We cannot allow a college through if it does not fulfil the required criteria," Goswami said.
BSAEU has also received a show-cause notice from the NCTE over faculty at its David Hare Campus.
