India, June 26 -- A fire broke out on the ninth floor of the Golden I commercial complex in Tech Zone-4, Greater Noida West, on Thursday morning, triggering panic among office workers and business owners in the area. According to Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar, the fire department received an alert at around 9.40 am about a blaze in Tower T-3 of the commercial complex. Initial reports suggested that some people were trapped inside the building, prompting the deployment of five fire tenders along with specialised firefighting equipment. However, after reaching the site and carrying out a thorough search operation, firefighters confirmed that no one was trapped. Officials said the office where the fire originated was closed at the time of the incident, and the individual initially believed to be inside had safely exited the building before emergency teams arrived. Visuals from the site showed thick smoke billowing from the upper floors of the tower as firefighting teams worked to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining offices. Golden I is a mixed-use commercial hub in Tech Zone-4, housing offices, retail outlets, restaurants and other commercial establishments. Preliminary findings indicate that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, although officials said the exact cause would be determined after a detailed investigation. "The fire has been completely extinguished and an inquiry has been initiated," Kumar added. Authorities said there was no structural damage to the building beyond the affected office area. Normal operations at the complex are expected to resume once safety inspections are completed.
