Kolkata, Sept. 11 -- BJP leader Debjit Sarkar on Friday sought to put the Suvendu Adhikari government's four-month report card on the table, detailing the development works undertaken since it came to power and highlighting a string of potential investment proposals received by the state in the industry sector.

Sarkar on his social media post said that investments which have taken place on the ground are that of Rs 15,000 crore under Shyam Steel, Mezia, Adani Hospital, New Town - Rs 2,000 crore, ITC expansion - Rs 2,300 crore, JSW Infra, Kolkata Dock - Rs 800 crore, Berger Paints Plus Peerless - Rs 1,600 crore, L&T Mindtree Data Centre - Rs 4,500 crore, Lux Cozi factory in Dankuni - Rs 600 crore, Amul Dairy, Sankrail - approximately Rs 700 crore. In addition, SAIL is investing Rs 45,000 crore in Burnpur, Sarkar said, adding that the Rashi Group and Rashmi Group are investing Rs 35,000 crore and the Durgapur Steel Plant is also investing Rs 20,000 crore. Shyam Alloys is investing Rs 10,000 crore, he added.

Sarkar claimed that several major initiatives have been undertaken in just the first 100 days after the BJP government came to power.

"For years, fencing along the India-Bangladesh border was not carried out, allowing illegal infiltrators to enter, for vote-bank interests. After the BJP came to power, land for border fencing has been provided within just 45 days. In addition, under the Vibrant Villages Programme, integrated development plans have been implemented for the infrastructural and social development of border villages, and the work has already begun," he said.

"The recommendation for the formation of the 7th Pay Commission has been made. Dearness Allowance for government employees has also been increased by 20 per cent," he added.

"For women, a 33 per cent reservation in jobs in the police force has been announced. Since many people in West Bengal have suffered because of the previous Trinamool government's job recruitment corruption, a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit for jobs has been provided for them," Sarkar further stated.
