Kolkata, Sept. 25 -- In a major organisational reshuffle in West Bengal ahead of the municipal elections, the central leadership on Friday announced changes in the party's women's, youth and OBC fronts, along with appointments across several organisational districts and state-level posts.

The party brought in several new faces into key positions across its organisational structure. Jadavpur MLA Sarbori Mukherjee has been removed from the post of state secretary, while Darjeeling MP Raju Bista has been appointed a vice-president.

Four existing state general secretaries-Locket Chatterjee, Jyotirmoy Singh Mahato, Indranil Khan and Shashi Agnihotri-will continue in their respective positions. Five new vice-presidents and four new state secretaries have also been appointed.

Based on the BJP's "one post, one person" principle, some changes were also made. Three ministers - Tapas Roy, Jagannath Chattopadhyay and Agnimitra Paul have been relieved of organisational responsibilities. One significant change is appointing actress Anjana Basu as president of the BJP's Mahila Morcha, replacing Agnimitra Paul.

The reshuffle comes a day after Amitabh Chakraborty was reappointed as the state general secretary (organisation) of the BJP in West Bengal. The BJP on Wednesday announced Sunil Bansal as the 'Prabhari' for West Bengal, while Lal Singh Arya, Rajendra Singh and Pinki Kushwaha have been appointed as

'Sah Prabhari'.
