Kolkata, Aug. 17 -- The BJP on Monday announced its new team of national office-bearers, with two leaders from West Bengal - oncologist Dr Madhuchandra Kar and Alipurduar MP Manoj Tigga - finding a place in the organisational line-up.

Kar, who served as the president of the BJP's doctors' cell in Bengal, has been given an important responsibility at the national level. The renowned oncologist is set to take on his new organisational role. Tigga, a prominent BJP face in north Bengal, has also been inducted into the new team announced by party president Nitin Nabin. He has played a key role in strengthening the BJP's organisational base across north Bengal.

Meanwhile, in a parallel development, the state BJP, on the completion of 100 days in the government, will send a 41-page book to every household containing the BJP government plans and successes so far.

The book will also highlight how much investment has been made in the state and how many people are availing the benefits of various social schemes run by the state government and the Centre. It will also highlight the measures taken by the BJP government to secure the Indo-Bangladesh border.
