New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- BJP president Nitin Nabin on Saturday held a crucial meeting with party leaders to discuss and formulate its youth outreach plan, sources said.
According to sources, the party's preparations for the upcoming assembly polls in seven states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat, were also on the agenda.
The meeting was attended by newly appointed BJP Yuva Morcha president Hemang Joshi. Former presidents of the party's Yuva Morcha Anurag Thakur, Poonam Mahajan and Tejasvi Surya were also present.
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia participated in the meeting.
Former Union minister and newly appointed BJP national general secretary Smriti Irani, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were among the leaders present.
The BJP invited more than 40 party leaders from across the country to participate in the closed-door discussions, according to sources.
There was no official word from the party on what transpired in the meeting.
This comes ahead of a month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' to be launched by the BJP across the country from September 17 to mark the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public life as the head of a government and his contributions.
The decision was taken at the party's first meeting with all 67 newly appointed national office bearers on August 22, which was also attended by the presidents and organising general secretaries of the BJP's state unit, besides other senior leaders of the party.
During the nationwide campaign, the BJP will reach out to every section of society, including youth, women and farmers through various programmes.
