Kolkata, Aug. 31 -- The West Bengal government has transferred 23 IAS officers, reshuffling key departments including finance, agriculture, food and supplies, housing, information technology, tourism and municipal administration.
The changes were ordered by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on August 28 and will take effect immediately. Khalid Aizaz Anwar, currently Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, has been appointed Secretary in the Finance Department. Surendra Kumar Meena will replace him as Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, while Dr Uma Sankar S will move to the Housing Department as Senior Special Secretary.
Anshul Gupta has been appointed Director of District Distribution Procurement and Supply in the Food and Supplies Department, with additional charge as managing director of the West Bengal Essential Commodities Supply Corporation.
Sumant Sahay will take over as managing director of WBTDCL and Director of Tourism, while Nitu Shukla will head the IT and Electronics Department as Special Secretary and take charge of WEBEL.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer Divya Murugesan has been appointed Joint Municipal Commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Other key postings include Haseen Zahera Rizvi as Labour Commissioner, Nripendra Singh as Executive Director of WBIDC, Rohan Laxmikant Joshi as Director of Transport, and Srinivas Vyankatrao Patil as managing director of Paschimbanga Agri Marketing Corporation (Sufal Bangla).
Several ADMs have also been moved to senior secretariat and departmental posts.
