Kolkata, Sept. 24 -- A day after West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said the state government will unveil its new industrial land policy ahead of the Durga Puja next month, his cabinet colleague Dilip Ghosh on Thursday said that industrial plots allotted to companies that failed to set up factories within the designated time frame will face cancellation and allotted lands will be taken back.
He also emphasised that future applicants receiving land for industrial purposes must complete factory construction within three years. Speaking to reporters at New Town in the morning Ghosh, who is the state Panchayat minister said that notices are being served to those companies who failed to set up their units within the stipulated time despite lands being handed over to them.
"In future, the industrialists who will get lands will have to set up their installations within three years," Ghosh said. Regarding Adani Group's investments in health sector, Ghosh slammed the previous Mamata Banerjee government stating "Adani did not come earlier as he did not have faith in the previous government.
They used to protest against Adani in Parliament while Mamata Banerjee had tried to bring Adani Group."
"The big industries from the country are interested to invest in Bengal. State government will provide land and other facilities. Industries will be set up here in West Bengal soon," Ghosh further pointed out.
