Kolkata, Aug. 17 -- The Bengal Business Council (BBC) will bring policymakers, investors and business leaders together at its fourth Annual Convention and Vision Conclave, with the forum seeking to identify measures to improve West Bengal's business environment and strengthen its competitiveness.
The convention, themed "Developed West Bengal for a Developed India", will focus on the state's industrial and commercial prospects, with discussions expected to centre on investment, entrepreneurship, MSMEs and the challenges confronting existing businesses.
Among those scheduled to participate are state Finance minister Swapan Dasgupta, Industry, Commerce and Enterprises Minister Tapas Roy, Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya, NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Ashok Lahiri and Subrata Gupta, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister.
Senior government officials and representatives of the business and policy ecosystem are also expected to attend.
BBC said the conclave would identify ease-of-doing-business gaps and explore practical measures to create a more investment-friendly environment while supporting existing and new-generation enterprises.
For the first time, the convention will be open to the wider business community, allowing entrepreneurs, professionals, startups and aspiring business leaders to participate.
The event will also feature a Business Exhibition and Innovation Showcase, giving participating companies and emerging enterprises an opportunity to display their products, ideas and innovations.
BBC president Chandra Shekhar Ghosh said the convention would seek practical solutions to challenges affecting businesses, while chairman Avishek Auddy stressed the need to create a level playing field for Bengal's enterprises and attract fresh investment.
