New Delhi, Sept. 19 -- West Bengal Chief Minister attended the evening prayer at Bagbazar Gaudiya Math on Radhashtami and announced that an auditorium, car park, hostels and facilities for the elderly would soon come up there.
Adhikari attended a special event at Sri Gaudiya Math on Saturday, paid tribute to Radharani, joined the evening aarti and offered prayers. "I have come here as a bhakt, so I followed the rituals," he said.
The CM said he discussed the Math's issues and decided to waive KMC building sanction fees. He said he had a long association with the organisation and had helped resolve disputes at Haldia. He also recalled his recent visit to its Mayapur unit with Union Home minister Amit Shah.
The CM said that there are attempts to create division among people, but "ultimately we are all Indians and Hindustani. So don't get provoked," he said. Organised by the Gaudiya Mission, the Radhashtami festival entered its 107th year this time, commemorating the appearance day of Radharani. Devotees had been gathering at the Math premises since the morning. The auspicious day was observed through Harinam Sankirtan by chanting the holy name.
