Kolkata, Nov. 4 -- Kolkata Police have arrested Dhrubajyoti Bose, secretary of massArt, in connection with a multi-crore Durga Puja entry pass and ticket forgery scam, in which former state Tourism and Information and Cultural Affairs minister Indranil Sen is the prime accused.
According to Kolkata Police, Bose was arrested from in front of the KIT building on India Exchange Place Road at around 7.15 pm for his alleged involvement in the scam.
It is alleged that massArt, an organisation linked to Indranil's wife, Madhuchhanda Sen, exploited the global prestige of Kolkata's Durga Puja, which received the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage tag in 2021, by falsely projecting an official corporate partnership with the international body. Under this banner, the organisation allegedly generated crores of rupees.
While probing a case registered at Bowbazar police station, police arrested Indranil, who is currently being interrogated in police custody. A few days ago, Madhuchhanda was also questioned by police at Lalbazar in connection with the case.
