Kolkata, Oct. 6 -- Allcargo Logistics will invest Rs 1,000 crore to develop a large warehouse facility at Pratham Dealmark Industrial Park in Dankuni, strengthening West Bengal's logistics and warehousing infrastructure.
The proposed facility will cater to rising demand for organised warehousing driven by industrial expansion, e-commerce, organised retail and evolving supply chains. Its location in Dankuni, with connectivity to Kolkata and key industrial and consumption centres, is expected to facilitate the storage and movement of goods across the region.
The investment was announced in the presence of Pratham Dealmark managing director Nishita Katriar, Allcargo CEO-Real Estate and head-Global Procurement Ram Walase, Pratham Dealmark CEO Soumitra Banerjee and director Ananya Kaushik.
Katriar said the investment marked an important milestone for the industrial park and reinforced Dankuni's emergence as a strategic logistics destination. She said the project would help attract business activity, strengthen the industrial ecosystem and create long-term economic opportunities.
The facility is expected to expand organised warehousing capacity and support businesses with storage, inventory management, transportation and distribution services. It could also generate direct and indirect employment in logistics, warehousing, transportation, facility management and allied sectors.
The project is expected to further strengthen Dankuni's position as a major warehousing and distribution hub serving Kolkata and surrounding industrial and commercial markets.
