Lucknow, Nov. 5 -- Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday urged organisers and sponsors of religious programmes not to invite storytellers whose controversial remarks hurt religious sentiments and create social discord.
Without naming anyone, he alleged that some religious storytellers had turned discourses into a business, claiming that "money is their religion". He warned that organisers could face public anger for providing platforms to such personalities.
Akhilesh alleged that some speakers made provocative remarks for publicity and urged organisers to invite genuine scholars with knowledge of the Vedas, Upanishads and epics who promote social harmony.
