New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has transferred an AI-based mammography interpretation model developed at the institute to BPL Technologies Limited for further development, validation and potential implementation.
The technology was transferred at AIIMS New Delhi on September 16 in the presence of AIIMS Director Prof Nikhil Tandon and BPL Technologies CFO Ajay Jindal. The model is designed to support the interpretation of mammography examinations and assist radiologists, particularly in areas with limited access to breast imaging specialists.
The transfer is part of an industry-academia collaboration between AIIMS and BPL Technologies. Tandon said research generated in academic institutions should be taken towards solutions addressing healthcare needs and expressed hope that the initiative would lead to further developments from AIIMS. Senior AIIMS and BPL Technologies officials attended the event, including Prof Govind Makharia, Prof Velpandian, Prof Smriti Hari and Dr Krithika Rangarajan.
