New Delhi, Oct. 12 -- Delhi's water infrastructure is set to get a technology upgrade with the inauguration of an Intelligent Command and Control Centre (IC³) and the flagging off of a dedicated Emergency Response Vehicle by Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on October 14.
The initiatives are being introduced by JWIL Infra Ltd, which is executing the Delhi Jal Board's Chandrawal Water Supply Project Packages 2, 3 and 4, covering around 10% of the city's population and geographical area.
The IC³ platform will integrate water supply operations, geographical information systems (GIS), smart meters, consumer complaints, maintenance and fleet tracking on a single dashboard. Using artificial intelligence and digital-twin simulations, the system aims to predict pipeline bursts, low-pressure zones and demand patterns, enabling faster responses to disruptions.
The GPS-enabled emergency vehicle will speed up pipeline repairs, reduce water loss and minimise supply disruptions. Mpost
