New Delhi, Sept. 16 -- Adidas is reportedly laying off nearly half of its workforce at its Tech Hub in Gurugram, with software engineers, data scientists and data engineers among those affected.
The company has confirmed that it is reducing roles within its technology organisation in India but has not disclosed the number of employees impacted, India Today reported.
In a statement to Wocult, Adidas said it had taken the "difficult decision" to cut technology roles as part of efforts to align its operating model with changing business needs. "We are grateful to our colleagues for their contributions to Adidas. We are committed to supporting our impacted colleagues with transition assistance during this time," the company said.
According to reports, 350 or more employees could be affected out of a workforce of 700 at the hub, representing 45-50 per cent of its staff. Adidas has not confirmed the figure.
