India, June 29 -- A blast in an air-conditioner unit triggered a fire in a flat on the 21st floor of a residential society in Noida on Monday morning, fire officials said. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, they said. The fire broke out in a flat at the Aranya Society in Sector 119 around 8:50 am, Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar said. Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot which brought the blaze under control in about half an hour, he said. According to the fire department, the blaze was triggered by an explosion in an air-conditioner unit installed in the flat. "The family was asleep when the AC unit exploded, triggering the fire. The blaze was doused promptly and no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident," Kumar said.
