Gurugram, Oct. 7 -- The basic training of the 57th batch of Directly Appointed Gazetted Officers (DAGOs) began at the CRPF Academy, Kadarpur, on Wednesday, with Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh urging trainees to develop discipline, competence and compassion as leaders.

The batch comprises 99 officers, including three women, selected from across the country.

Of them, 22 are postgraduates and 77 graduates, while 28 have prior experience in the Armed Forces, CAPFs, police or other government organisations. Addressing the trainees, Singh urged them to make full use of the rigorous training and prepare for the challenges of leadership in the force.

He stressed physical fitness, professional knowledge, integrity and character, and asked officers to lead by example while treating personnel with dignity and respect.

The DG also emphasised continuous learning through the ethos of "unlearning, learning and relearning" and called upon the officers to uphold the values and traditions of the CRPF.
