
New Delhi, Sept. 18 -- A 73-year-old man was arrested after his car allegedly hit a biker and dragged his motorcycle for around 100 metres on Africa Avenue Road in south Delhi's R K Puram area, police said on Friday.
Police said the blue sedan, allegedly driven by Venu Gopal, a Vasant Kunj resident, was travelling from Bhikaji Cama Place towards R K Puram Metro Station around 10 pm on Thursday when it hit 21-year-old Tanish Tokas, who was sitting on his parked motorcycle by the roadside.
Tokas fell from the motorcycle due to the impact, while the bike got dragged by the car before the vehicle stopped. He underwent a medical examination and was found to have suffered no serious injuries. A video of the incident showed a crowd confronting the driver after the car stopped. Some people alleged he was drunk.
Police received information around 10.22 pm and rushed to the spot. mpost
