India, Aug. 20 -- The Delhi Police recovered 568 lost or stolen mobile phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and returned them to their owners, an officer said on Wednesday. The recovery drive was conducted from July 1 to August 15. The oldest phone recovered had been stolen in December 2021, while latest was reported stolen in May this year. CEIR lets users block stolen phones using IMEI numbers, helping police trace them when reconnected.
