India, Aug. 11 -- Parking congestion at Bhikaji Cama Place District Centre is likely to ease next month, with the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) Multilevel Car Parking (MLCP) facility expected to be completed by then. The 40.01-crore facility will accommodate 645 vehicles, including 452 cars and 193 two-wheelers. Of the car spaces, 20 will be reserved for persons with disabilities. The facility will also have eight parking spaces, four lifts and a waiting room for visitors and drivers. It will provide separate toilets for women, men and persons with disabilities, along with drinking water and barrier-free access. Two dedicated lifts will connect the parking facility directly to the raised plaza of Bhikaji Cama Place District Centre, providing convenient access to offices located there. Spread across a basement, ground floor, first floor, second floor and terrace level, the facility has a total covered area of 19,354 square metres. It is being constructed as a conventional parking facility with an RCC-framed structure designed to withstand seismic forces. The MLCP will feature parking guidance systems, EV charging facilities, CCTV surveillance, firefighting systems and two rainwater harvesting units. The facility is aimed at providing safer, organised and accessible parking while easing congestion in the busy commercial hub.
