Greater Noida, Sept. 18 -- The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Thursday allotted seven per cent residential plots to 320 farmers of Tirthali village through a draw, advancing the settlement of land-related entitlements for farmers affected by development projects in the area.
The draw was held at the YEIDA office in the presence of eligible beneficiaries and was videographed and photographed as part of the process. Officials from the land records and planning departments supervised the proceedings.
The plots have been earmarked in Sector 29 for farmers whose land was purchased by the authority. Officials said beneficiaries were selected after scrutiny of land records and eligibility documents.
The allotment was made under YEIDA's seven per cent abadi-plot policy, under which eligible landowners whose agricultural land is acquired for planned development are entitled to residential plots equivalent to seven per cent of the acquired area, subject to applicable conditions.
Tirthali is among the villages where YEIDA has been processing claims under the scheme.
The authority has been issuing eligibility lists and conducting village-wise allotments after scrutiny and inviting objections and suggestions.
The latest draw is part of YEIDA's efforts to clear pending farmer-related allotments.
