New Delhi, Sept. 20 -- Delhi Police closed 2,499 complaints during the latest round of its weekly 'Thana Divas-Jansunwai' programme held across police stations in all 15 districts on Saturday, officials said. Senior officers, from Joint Commissioners of Police to Assistant Commissioners of Police, attended the public hearings and heard residents' grievances. They directed concerned personnel to take prompt action and ensure effective follow-up, police said.
The weekly initiative provides residents with a direct channel to approach senior officers with complaints, concerns and suggestions, without relying solely on routine grievance redressal mechanisms.
Launched in June 2026 following directions from Delhi L-G Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the programme is held every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm under Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar.
Police said the initiative aims to make grievance redressal more accessible and strengthen police-public interaction.
