India, Aug. 19 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar T.S. Sandhu has approved a major overhaul of the Apex Committee and District Development Committees (DDCs), expanding the district level governance framework from nine to 13 committees in line with the Capital's reorganisation into 13 revenue districts. The revised structure also brings the Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD) into the Apex Committee as a permanent member, a move aimed at strengthening coordination in the planning and execution of major infrastructure projects across the city. The changes partially modify the framework that was originally established on November 15, 1999.
