New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- The Delhi Police has busted a drug trafficking syndicate by arresting eight alleged members and recovering 1.383 kg of smack and Rs 3,71,98,560 in suspected drug proceeds, an official said on Monday.
The case began with the arrest of two alleged peddlers in April in southeast Delhi. Their interrogation led police to Kiran alias Ram Prashad, an alleged supplier, and subsequently to distributors Neeraj alias Thapa and Ashok alias Ramu.
Investigators later arrested intermediary Maniya alias Suman Pathak, along with associates Vicky and Guddu, and recovered 32 grams of smack. Their probe led to Faridabad-based supplier Sunit alias Nannhe, from whom 39 grams was recovered. A subsequent search of premises linked to Sunit and his brother-in-law Gopi Singh led to the recovery of 1.296 kg of smack and the cash. Police said a financial investigation is underway to trace the source and destination of the cash. mpost
