Kuala Lampur, July 17 -- An older society is quickly becoming the norm in Malaysia. The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) projects that by 2025, 8.0 per cent of the population will be 65 and older, and that this number will only grow in the decades to come. Because an increasing proportion of older people are financially vulnerable owing to inadequate retirement savings, this demographic transition has major ramifications for income security in old age.
