Kuala Lampur, July 30 -- Langkawi offers an important warning to Port Dickson, but the warning must be stated accurately.

It would be factually wrong to claim that tourism in Langkawi has simply collapsed under the PAS-led Kedah government. Official figures from the Langkawi Development Authority show that visitor arrivals have recovered strongly since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Langkawi received about 2.58 million visitors in 2022, 2.81 million in 2023 and 2.90 million in 2024. The island's tourism authorities reported further growth in 2025.
