BUKIT KAYU HITAM, Sept. 17 -- A 17-year-old Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidate was reportedly among six teenagers detained by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (Nada) Kedah during a joint operation at the Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint yesterday.

According to Berita Harian, Nada Kedah director Khairul Anwar Ahmad said the Form Five student from a secondary school in Penang admitted to taking drugs due to life pressures and curiosity, and confessed it was his second time trying ketamine.

"Investigations revealed that the student, an only child, has been living with his grandparents since his parents' divorce when he was nine," Khairul Anwar was quoted as saying.
