SEOUL, May 18 -- Police in South Korea are investigating after a car crashed through a glass wall and plunged into an indoor swimming pool at a sports centre in Miryang, South Gyeongsang.

As reported by Korea JoongAng Daily, the incident happened at about 10.18am on Saturday when the vehicle struck another car while reversing out of a parking space before accelerating forward into the building, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency said.

The driver, identified as a member of the centre's swimming club, was rescued conscious from the vehicle and taken to hospital with chest pain. One swimmer sustained minor cuts from broken glass.
