TENOM, May 14 -- A 19-year-old student reported missing from a boarding school was found dead on a riverbank near the Pangie hydroelectric dam here on Tuesday.

Acting Tenom police chief ASP Ahmad Razali Shaari said the male victim was last seen leaving the school in Kemabong on May 10.

"Police received a report of the discovery of a body floating along the riverbank in Sungai Padas at around 8.54am on Tuesday.

"A team was deployed to the location and the body was later taken to Tenom Hospital for post-mortem to determine the cause of death," he said in a statement.

He added that investigations at the scene found no sign of foul play on the victim's body or the surrounding area
