LAWAS, Oct. 28 -- A secondary school student was allegedly molested after staying at her uncle's house here over the weekend.
Lawas police chief DSP Liong Tindan said his department received a report from the 15-year-old victim at 3.17pm on Sunday.
"Acting on the report, a police team then raided the 42-year-old suspect's house and arrested the uncle at the scene.
"A search of the house revealed a shotgun and three shotgun cartridge shells. The suspect did not have any firearms licence. He was arrested for further investigation by the police," Liong said in a statement today.
The man has been remanded for seven days under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to assist with the investigation.
