BINTULU, Aug. 23 -- A man was killed after the car he was driving collided with a lorry along the Bintulu-Samalaju Coastal Road here yesterday.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), in a statement, said a team from the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call about the accident at around 8.41am.

"Upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters found that an accident involving a car and a lorry had occurred," it said in a statement.

Firefighters found the victim trapped in the driver's seat of the car and carried out an operation to extricate him from the vehicle.
