KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 20 -- Fares for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link are expected to be announced by the end of this year, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.

The announcement will be made ahead of the service's planned opening in February next year.

"The announcement would be made jointly with RTS Operations (RTSO), as the project was a bilateral initiative between Malaysia and Singapore.

"I cannot make any unilateral announcement because it is a bilateral project," Loke told a press conference at the Transport Exhibition (TXA) here today.

He said the fare announcement would be made before the service begins operating to give the public sufficient time to familiarise themselves with the ticket prices.
