JOHOR BAHRU, Sept. 8 -- Johor is prepared to conduct cloud seeding exercises if any of the state's 17 dams experience low water levels in preparation for the El Nino phenomenon by next month, said Johor Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh.

He said the current situation is under control as the state government monitors the water levels in dams on a daily basis.

"We are just preparing to face the super El Nino phenomenon which is expected from October to December.

"As a precautionary measure, we have also reached out to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) for cloud seeding preparations.
