SEGAMAT, Oct. 20 -- A businessman has claimed that a fake Facebook account, using his name and image, was used to post content insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay community.

Segamat police chief Superintendent Mohd Jumazanzahir Chek Ismail said that the complainant, a local man, lodged a police report here the day before yesterday.

"Police confirm having received a report regarding the misuse of his personal information to create a fake Facebook account.

"This account used his name and photo to upload posts involving 3R (religion, race, and the royal institution) issues," he said in a statement today.
