KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 19 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered the Human Resources Ministry to review and report back to the Cabinet on the status of current applications from Malaysian doctors who want to return to work in the country.

Government spokesman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the ministry was directed to examine several aspects related to applications that are under Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp).

"The review involves the status of applications received, the time taken to process applications and the number of applications approved and those that are rejected," he said in the weekly post-cabinet media briefing that was broadcast live today.
