NAGOYA, Sept. 25 -- Malaysian mixed doubles veterans Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie began their Asian Games individual campaign in commanding fashion, beating Taiwan's Yang Po Hsuan-Hu Ling Fang 21-14, 21-11 in just 28 minutes.

Free Malaysia Today reported that the world No 10 husband-and-wife pair will next face India's Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto.

The Games have previously proved difficult territory for Soon Huat-Shevon, who were eliminated in the second round at both Jakarta-Palembang 2018 and Hangzhou 2022 and are still chasing their first Asian Games medal.
