KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 10 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government will implement targeted subsidies and ensure it is only for Malaysians, and not foreigners or large corporations.

He said the floating of chicken prices saved the government RM1 billion, egg prices saved RM1 billion, and restructuring the electricity tariffs saved RM6 billion.

"Around 85 per cent of users were not subjected to any tariff increase and some even enjoyed lower bills. In addition, the targeting of diesel subsidies saved us RM5 billion
